Whole Grain Croutons

Home made croutons

These go perfectly with soups or salads.

Servings: 12 Serving Size: 6 croutons

Ingredients:

Crouton Ingredients

6 slices whole grain bread

2 Tbsp Parmesan Romano cheese

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp basil

1 tsp parsley

Cooking spray

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 375 Degrees F.

Cut each slice of bread 4 by 3 producing 12 squares for each slice of bread.

Spray a baking pan or dish lightly with cooking spray.

Put the bread pieces in the pan, and coat on both sides with cooking spray.

Combine parmesan cheese, garlic, basil and parsley flakes in a small bowl.  Pour over the bread, and toss, so that the bread pieces are coated with the herb mixture on each side.

Spray another coat of cooking spray, and then bake in the oven for 10 -12 minutes or until crisp.

Serve with a salad or soup. Store left over croutons in a Ziploc bag for later use. 

Baked Croutons

3 Minute Garlic Bread

This is soo easy to make and soo yummy too. Once you’ll try this once, there will be no need for store bought garlic bread when you can make yours in the comfort of your kitchen. This is the way to go.

 

Servings: 2, Serving Size: 1/2 bun, 1 bread slice

Ingredients

1 whole bun/2 slices of bread of choice (I used an onion bun)

2 tbsp butter

  •  Preferably use one made with olive oil. If not, that’s okay
  •  You can substitute with margarine, or use ½ tsp of olive oil on each slice

2 tbsp pesto

  • If you don’t have any on hand, you can make yours by mincing one-two whole garlic cloves (depending on your palate and desire for the strength of the garlic flavor), 2 tsp of Basil, and 2 tsp of olive oil, Mix together. 

2 tsp Parsley flakes

2 tsp Romano Parmesan cheese

Directions:

 Set your oven to 450 F. Take each bread slice (or bun half) and coat the entire surface with 1 Tbsp of butter each. 

Next, spread 1 Tbsp of pesto. Sprinkle 1 tsp each of parsley flakes and 1 tsp each of Parmesan Romano cheese.

Place on aluminum foil and stick in the oven and until the bread becomes nice and crisp and the edges start to brown  (This will take only about 3 minutes).

Voila! Take out of the oven and enjoy.
